We are a privately owned, modern small-animal hospital in Chestermere, Alberta, looking for a friendly, dependable, and highly organized Veterinary Receptionist who enjoys helping people, loves animals, and can confidently manage the excitement of a busy veterinary hospital.

Whether you have veterinary reception experience or a strong background in customer service, we would love to meet someone who is compassionate, professional, and eager to grow with our team.

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be an essential part of our hospital and the first point of contact for many of our clients. You will work alongside veterinarians, RVTs, veterinary assistants, and fellow receptionists who genuinely support one another. We encourage open communication, shared learning, and teamwork across every area of the hospital.

No two days are the same. You will have opportunities to strengthen your communication, organization, and veterinary knowledge while helping clients and their pets feel welcomed and cared for.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Welcoming clients and patients with warmth and professionalism

  • Answering telephone calls, emails, and text messages

  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating patient care

  • Processing payments and reviewing estimates with clients

  • Maintaining accurate client and patient records

  • Communicating important information between clients and the medical team

  • Assisting clients during routine, urgent, and emotional situations

  • Following hospital policies and communicating them clearly

  • Keeping the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming

  • Supporting the daily flow of a busy veterinary hospital

  • Building lasting relationships with clients and teammates

  • Provides exceptional customer service

  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and compassionately

  • Remains calm and respectful during difficult or emotional situations

  • Is organized, dependable, and attentive to detail

  • Can confidently multitask and prioritize responsibilities

  • Works well both independently and as part of a team

  • Is comfortable discussing appointments, treatment estimates, payments, and hospital policies

  • Has strong telephone, computer, and written communication skills

  • Is willing to learn veterinary terminology and hospital procedures

  • Is available for a combination of daytime, evening, and weekend shifts

Education and Experience

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Customer service: One year (preferred)

  • Reception or administrative experience: One year (preferred)

  • Veterinary or medical reception experience: An asset
